Thanks for visiting. This site is a compilation of healthcare management materials  and some tools which represent an approach to healthcare process improvement and transformation. Managed health-care is evolving, is largely driven by employers and market forces, and steam is gathering for consumer directed solutions. Within this evolution are opportunities to realize the betterment of population-wide health status, but the pieces of the puzzle in healthcare are not tightly wound yet and not communicating optimally.  In addition, perverse incentives abound and efficiencies are embarrassingly poor.

One approach to improving many aspects of health-care is through Lean Six-Sigma, which represents a strong facilitating set of tools which are ideal to help realize real change right now.  Furthermore, these tools are designed to sustain realized improvements.

Simplify processes with Lean and use Six Sigma to reduce variance,  improve quality, enhance profitability, be customer focused, measure and sustain outcomes, focus on prevention and arrive at reproducible and sustained improvement. These strategies have been effectively applied in all sectors including service and healthcare. In some cases the results have been spectacular and have led to Malcolm Baldridge awards for entire health systems. In other cases, grassroots improvement efforts have been achieved which have simply improved care at one facility or another.

The awakening of consumerism as a driver of healthcare reform mandates  that any  organization on the path to success  optimize their clinical and business processes to substantiate  a credible value proposition for  true sustainable competitive advantage. All others will fall by the wayside.  Which side of the fence will you be on?
